Let Your State Leaders and Elected Officials Know That You Oppose Reductions in State Aid
The State Legislature is returning to Albany on November 18th to address a $1.5 billion gap in the state's current year budget. In addition, Governor Paterson will be submitting his 2009-10 Executive Budget on December 16th. Given the current economic environment, it is essential that our State leaders and legislators realize that cutting municipal aid will result in increased property taxes, reductions in local services, or both. The state cannot solve its financial problems by shifting costs onto local governments. So take action now to help Stop the Tax Shift!
Elected state officials need to hear your voice, so take action today and let them know that municipal aid must be maintained and unfunded mandates must be repealed!
